Check Point Charlie

Check point Charlie is not named after our ancient mariner and hiking companion Charlie but as an historic crossing point of the Berlin Wall.
There is a remarkable museum there which describes the many ways in which people were smuggled across the wall or crossed in any way - tight rope lines, balloons, ultra light planes etc. It also documents the formation NATO with original film footage. Also film footage of the breakdown of the wall 26 years ago. We spent two hours but could have spent longer.
